In the work of Maison Aetherion, light is not merely an accessory to design – it becomes an intrinsic property of the material itself.

The atelier explores the poetic dialogue between illumination and natural minerals, transforming rare stones into sculptural objects and bespoke architectural elements for refined interiors.
Founded by Greek designer Markos Vasilakis, Maison Aetherion is dedicated to the creation of collectible objects and custom installations crafted from translucent onyx, marble, rare mineral specimens and carefully selected rare woods. Each piece reveals the expressive potential hidden within natural materials, allowing their geological patterns, colours and structures to emerge through light.

The studio’s work occupies a territory between design object, sculptural artefact and atmospheric lighting element. When illuminated, translucent minerals and certain marbles reveal intricate internal formations – natural landscapes shaped over millions of years. Light passes through these crystalline structures, producing soft glows, layered textures and subtle chromatic variations that transform the surrounding architectural space.
Beyond collectible pieces, Maison Aetherion collaborates closely with architects, interior designers and developers to create bespoke installations tailored to specific environments. These projects may include luminous wall elements crafted from onyx, sculptural mineral vessels, custom lighting pieces, and architectural features designed to integrate seamlessly within luxury residential, hospitality and yacht interiors.
The creative process begins with the selection of the material itself. Each mineral slab or specimen is carefully chosen for its translucency, structural character and natural pattern. This approach ensures that every creation remains singular – a design object shaped not only by craftsmanship and contemporary design thinking, but also by the geological history embedded within the material.

Maison Aetherion develops both illuminated and non-illuminated objects, combining mineral matter, rare woods and precise fabrication techniques to produce pieces that function simultaneously as design elements and works of art.
The studio’s work has been presented internationally, including within the Signature section of Maison&Objet Paris, and in Greece at exhibitions such as the Architect Show and 100% Hotel Show, where Maison Aetherion introduced its luminous mineral creations to architects, designers and collectors.
Through its ongoing collaborations with design professionals, Maison Aetherion continues to explore how natural materials, light and craftsmanship can shape distinctive spatial atmospheres and bespoke design expressions within contemporary interiors.
