Beatrice Gravier, Director of EquipHotel Paris
Interviewer: This year, EquipHotel is focusing on “collective boldness.” Could you explain what this approach means and how it connects to the Olympic spirit of 2024?
Mrs. Gravier: “Collective boldness” is an idea inspired by the Olympic spirit, which highlights teamwork, resilience, and collaboration. 2024 is a year full of energy, with the Olympic Games revitalizing the global stage. Much like athletes striving for greatness through collaboration and determination, in the hospitality sector, we aim to showcase this dynamism through innovative partnerships and the embrace of diversity. Collective boldness inspires industry professionals to take risks, explore new horizons, and achieve more by working together, fully harnessing growth opportunities.
Interviewer: What is your perspective on the current state of the hotel industry post-pandemic? Which trends stand out to you?
Mrs. Gravier: The hotel industry is in a phase of significant recovery. We are seeing record sales, the return of international clientele, and the growth of luxury accommodations. At the same time, people are seeking experiences that connect them with nature and themselves. The food and beverage sector is showing growth, with Finger Food playing a key role. There are many opportunities for development, and there is great interest in new challenges and investments in the industry.
Interviewer: EquipHotel 2024 presents an international program with inspiring Design Talks from the London stage. How do these discussions contribute to the visitor experience?
Mrs. Gravier: The Design Talks offer a platform for exchanging ideas among leading industry professionals. This year’s program, influenced by the London scene, is designed to inspire and spark fresh perspectives on design and architecture in hospitality. These discussions explore new approaches to guest experiences, combining innovation with tradition.
Interviewer: How does EquipHotel support “Made in France” products and local businesses?
Mrs. Gravier: One of EquipHotel’s key goals is to promote French products and local supply chains. We strengthen craftsmanship and local production by providing a platform where businesses can showcase their products to an international audience. This not only supports local economies but also highlights the cultural heritage of France.
Interviewer: What is the role of technology and artificial intelligence at EquipHotel 2024?
Mrs. Gravier: Technology and artificial intelligence are at the heart of EquipHotel 2024. Our goal is to provide professionals with the tools they need to grow their businesses. These innovations are transforming the hospitality industry, offering new opportunities and enhancing the customer experience. With artificial intelligence, professionals can become more efficient, more flexible, and adapt to the evolving demands of the market.
Interviewer: Which are the key areas you focused on while preparing for this year’s EquipHotel?
Mrs. Gravier: We focused on two main goals. First, to provide hospitality professionals with the right tools to grow their businesses, both strategically and financially. Second, to unite all stakeholders in the industry to achieve more together. This means going beyond the boundaries of hotels and restaurants to create a more collaborative hospitality ecosystem.
Interviewer: EquipHotel Paris 2024 is set to offer a range of inspirational spaces designed by top architects. Can you tell us more about these areas and the overall theme of the event?
CH: At EquipHotel Paris 2024, we are excited to introduce several inspirational areas created by renowned architects and designers. These spaces will showcase cutting-edge concepts and practical solutions that cater to the evolving needs of the hospitality industry. ‘Time to Dare,’ reflects our focus on bold innovation, sustainability, and creativity.
One of the highlights will be the pop-up restaurants and experiential spaces. These areas will focus on eco-friendly designs, sustainable practices, and the ‘slow living’ philosophy, showing how hospitality can seamlessly integrate with the natural environment. The idea is to inspire industry professionals to think outside the box and explore new ways to blend functionality with aesthetics.
We are also placing a strong emphasis on conscious hospitality, which highlights energy conservation, the use of local products, and creating inclusive spaces. These installations will not only enhance guest experiences but also consider the environmental impact and long-term sustainability of hospitality design.
Additionally, visitors can look forward to workshops and masterclasses led by experts in wellness design, technology integration, and more. We want to provide practical insights and inspiration that professionals can take away and implement in their own projects. It’s a comprehensive showcase of future trends in hospitality, presented through real-world, architect-designed environments
Interviewer: Innovation plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the hospitality industry. Can you tell us more about the Innovation Awards at EquipHotel Paris 2024 and why they are so important?
Mrs. Gravier: Innovation is at the heart of EquipHotel Paris, and the Innovation Awards are a key part of our mission to showcase groundbreaking products and solutions that drive the industry forward. These awards recognize the most innovative contributions in four key categories: Design, Tech & Services, Well-being, and Foodservice.
Each category also includes two sub-categories: Guest Experience and Workplace Well-being. The goal is to not only highlight innovations that enhance the guest’s experience but also those that improve the working conditions and overall well-being of the hospitality staff, which is just as critical for long-term success.
The awards are judged by a panel of experts who evaluate submissions based on originality, utility, and their potential to influence the future of hospitality. Winning these awards gives companies the recognition they deserve and allows them to showcase their innovations in front of an international audience of industry professionals.
The best part is that these award-winning products and services are featured throughout the show, offering visitors the chance to engage with the latest trends and solutions in real-time. It’s a win-win situation where both the innovators and the professionals attending EquipHotel benefit immensely.
